Bone Marrow Rebirth is a game that really took me by surprise when I tried out its demo by chance. As you move your character around a 5×5 grid, everything on the grid moves along with them in the same direction, and for every move you make, an item slides in from offscreen with a number on it. Pushing together two items of the same number together will combine them into a more powerful version of that item, and then pushing that new item into another of its same rank will combine those into one yet more powerful. On certain turns, you can then collect those attack, defense, and HP boosters to power up your warrior for when an enemy arrives on the field. If you’re familiar with games such as Threes or 2048, then you’ll have a good grasp on how Bone Marrow Rebirth plays—and if not, you can always check out the demo below. While it’s not set in stone, this upgraded and expanded version of the original Bone Marrow will hopefully be released sometime this year.
