Heavy Recoil is a run and gun platformer with heavy emphasis on action. Inspiration has mainly been drawn from the arcade versions of Green Beret/Rush’n Attack, GunForce, Psycho-Nics Oscar, Missing in Action, and Super Contra.

It will feature 16 stages, accessible through a world map. Although the game is mostly linear there are some choices that can be made. At the moment of writing there are currently 15 playable stages and 12 of the bosses are in place.
